In 1997, in an effort to preserve its sporty image, Honda needed to bring new exciting models in its showrooms, to park alongside its mainstream Civics and the excellent but slow-selling NSX. We do have a habit of complaining that Lexus cars have a paucity of appeal in the driving and styling departments, but maybe plans for a new Lexus GS Coupe will change our minds. It looks as though Lexus are looking seriously at adding coupes in to their range, at least according to Lexus Product Planning Manager Ben J. Mitchell, who confessed as much in conversation with Inside Line.
The picturesque town of Woking, Surrey, in the south of England is home to the McLaren Technology Center (MTC), the McLaren Automotive factory that builds the MP4-12C supercar and, soon, a dedicated facility for McLaren GT. McLaren GT is a branch within the McLaren Automotive Group, started in 2011, that supplies MP4-12C GT3s for competition. The space is a 60,000-square-foot facility that housed McLaren Racing from 1987 to 2004.
